As for the title of this lovely post, I should probably start with the fact that last week was an absolute wreck. And it's not quite over yet. I have just one more paper to squeeze out for tomorrow, but it happens to be my draft for my term paper for archaeology. So yeah, last week. I came down with a nasty case of something last weekend, starting Saturday morning with a light fever. I skipped practice that morning and slept till I couldn't sleep anymore. Advil seemed to lower my fever and I just kept pumping the fluids all day. Sunday morning, I had a really sore throat but after taking some more Advil I seemed to think I was fine for our classic OD to Naomi's for DELICIOUS chili (we're talking absolutely mind blowing). However later that night, while trying to write a paper in the library, I was hit with the shakes and the aches really bad. Walking back to my dorm has never been so painful. So for the next two miserable days, with the permission of the health center and my professors, I was able to do nothing but watch movies and sleep. Movie selections included: Rise of the Planet of Apes (JAMES FRANCO), The Land Before Time (the FIRST one), The Prestige (amaaaaazing movie), and finally, Atonement (possibly one of the saddest movies I've seen in a long time). Monday, I left my floor once and that was to go to the Health Center. Tuesday, I was a tad more adventurous and went to the dining hall for dinner even though I could barely talk to ask for the food that I wanted. Wednesday brought some relief and I gave running and erging a shot. Surprisingly, I felt amazing while running and I couldn't wait for the next few workouts on Thursday and Friday.

Saturday brought a lovely change of pace. We decided to hold some sprint rounds with the Bates team down at Pineland. We arrived a tad late so our warmup was a little too short for my liking. I like a pretty long warmup especially for my sprints and my muscles felt super tight and cold by the time I toed the line. But to my surprise, I finished my prelim in 4th overall which was a pretty exciting thing for me. The rounds were a lot of fun, especially because I really haven't had the chance to race in heats since I was a J2, I mean, once a year at EHSC isn't really enough. I think my favorite was definitely the round with Kaitlynn, Steph, Me, and a Bates girl. We had the most amazing photo finish minus the photo part because I really don't think we were going to pull out the electronic eye for a fun little mini-competition. All and all, the boys and girls all had pretty strong showings. I can't wait to get onto real skis to see how we've all progressed. Ahh, the season is so close!!
So anyway, it's almost Thanksgiving. Canada here we come! We're heading North tomorrow at promptly 1:15pm and I think it's going to be absolutely amazing. Sure the snow might be sketch, but with a team like the Polar Bears, we're bound to make it work.
Enjoy your holidays! See you in CANADAAAAAA!!!!!
Cheers!
ps. GO TEAM NOFF NOFF (to be explained later.....!)
